HOW DOES THE AUTISM PARTNERSHIP

 PROGRAM WORK?

Your Program Supervisor is involved, on a consultative basis, with programming (skill acquisition as well as behaviour management), training, and integrating the input from all members of the multidisciplinary team. Your team may consist of a Program Supervisor (supplied by Autism Partnership), 2-5 therapists who will work directly with your child (hired by the parents), optionally a Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, or Physiotherapist (chosen by you), and once your child starts attending school or preschool, a Teacher and/or School Administrator (chosen by you). All Autism Partnership consultants have several years’ supervised experience working with autistic children, training staff and overseeing intensive Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programs.

Programming begins with an Initial Workshop, in which staff and parents are trained in the foundations of Discrete Trial Teaching, an initial assessment of the child’s needs is made, and initial program goals are developed. Before scheduling a date, we will need a deposit of $750 for workshop expenses. By the start of the workshop, we will need an additional cheque to cover the consultation fee. Any balance in travel expenses will be billed or rebated to you within 30 days after the workshop.

For information about program costs, please contact our staff at the address or phone above or email address below. In addition to workshop fees, families outside of the Calgary area will be billed for travel, hotel, car rental and per diem. To reduce these costs, we attempt to schedule multiple families for a visit, so that expenses may be shared proportionally among the families.
